The Goal

The activity involves compiling a list of all the objects that the children have in their memories. They use the objects to tell a story and tell their classmates.

The Method

By the children reflecting on the objects that stayed in their memory from childhood, they enhance their senses and ability to communicate with others. This activity encourages the exploration of one’s past, discovering items loved for sentimental value.

What We Found

The ability to use writing appropriate to the objects in their memory gives the children analytical skills. The activity brings excitement to the students who recall favorite items and share these with their classmates. New friendships are formed due to possible objects in common. Also, develop children’s exploration techniques.

How to Start

A sample of objects is put together by the teacher to present and guide the class on their own objects. They are asked to think of five objects to use in their writing to share with classmates. This activity allows them to exercise their memory and find out how to express themselves. Perhaps, it would be fun to put children in pairs that exchange memories and present for each other to the class.
